WELCOME TO BARBERNV ISSUE 24

2019 has been one of our best and busiest years in the BarberNV office. Saying that, we are excited to have finally announced our collaboration with Professional Hairdresser magazine and Pro Hair Live, where BarberNV will be taking over Pro Barbering Live. So, stay tuned for more updates!
The British barbering and music calendars have been jam-packed with Barber Connect in June and festivals galore throughout the summer. It should not be a surprise that every Barber Connect outdoes the previous years’ edition and 2019 was no exception. The BarberNV team were on the frontlines all weekend chatting with some of the biggest names in barbering right now, getting their stories and industry secrets. Check out our in-depth rundown of yet another incredible Barber Connect.

Naturally, since it is the festival season we wanted to showcase barbers organising pop-up shops in fields for the hordes of music lovers. We spoke with Sandyman Chop Shop, Simon Bones and barber Charlie Venn about their experience at the world’s best rock and metal festival, Download Festival.

A couple of editions ago Danny Robinson of Danny & Co Barbers revealed to us about their collaboration with Formula One. Now Danny, alongside Kilian Maddison has made history becoming Silverstone barbers. The shop looked every part F1 and no expense was spared. Kilian talked very honestly about their F1 weekend and how their motor racing could have turned into a nightmare.

Barber shops aren’t the only places where men are getting their grooming fix and plenty of men who sign themselves up for spa treatments. We explored this with the Thai Square Spa and a look into the new Coolsculpting treatment.

Across the pond celebrity barber and stylist Xavier Cruz has co-founded Strands for Trans. A charity initiative which looks to create an interactive map of barber shops and salons that are trans-friendly—even Marc Jacobs got on board.

There is so much to cover it’s hard to talk about everything in this issue. And if you’re in the market for a new camera or a few tips and tricks from barber-photographers Paul Montgomery and Tony Haresign gave us their sage advice.

So relax, recline yourself in the ol’ belmont and enjoy! If you have any feeback, news or collections get in touch with us on social media.
