Artistic Director Gareth Williams and Colour Ambassador Siobhan Jones welcome Colour Project to the Headmasters Academy in Putney, London on Monday 9th May for a day full of colour education.
After introducing themselves and their own background, Gareth and Siobhan presented some of Headmasters’ own collections with particular attention to the colouring techniques used. It was fantastic to see where they get their inspiration from for their latest collection ’transition’ and included looks created from renowned artists, including Goldie Hawn. These looks demonstrated just how to use applications such as colour blocking; double toning and colour looping which were all described technically to The Colour Project Team. Gareth and Siobhan then welcomed their two models where they were able to demonstrate a couple of methods to The Team. This was an interactive part of the day where everyone was able to ask questions throughout.
After everyone presented their mood boards it was a chance for everyone to spend the afternoon learning a specific technique. The Colour Project Team worked with a feathering colouring application inspired by their collection look Red Steele and the result was stunning!
Brooke Payton, from Abacus Hair Studio, said “What a fantastic workshop! Having an insight into their new collection inspired by trends from 1975-1985 was amazing and the demonstration of two of the looks were packed full of tips and advice. I cannot wait to use these techniques in the future!”
James Vincent Nicklin, from Tim Scott Wright @ The Hair Surgery, said “Today was an opportunity to learn how Gareth and Siobhan get inspired ready for their collections. Learning how they make their images into a commercial and wearable style was insightful, and it was brilliant to learn how we can adapt this into our own salon. This was an inspirational day and the workshop was a chance to get really confident in one particular look which I cannot wait to share with everyone back at the salon”
